Fethard-on-Sea and Surrounding Area
This strand of the project was developed by Michael Fortune iMichael Fortune as part of a socially engaged project in Fethard-on-Sea in 2015 in conjunction with St. Mary’s Community Centre, the photography group Blokes With Cameras and a variety of local individuals including Susan Foley (Project Coordinator with St. Mary’s Community Centre) and local historians Liam Ryan and Dixie Chapman.

The place-based project has been supported by the Arts Department of Wexford County Council and features comprehensive information on sites of historical and cultural importance around the village of Fethard-on-Sea, Co. Wexford.

This is part of a larger umbrella project which Michael is undertaking throughout Wexford in which he documents sites of importance, those known and unknown, in villages around Co. Wexford. The Blokes With Cameras group includes Frank Carbery, Martin Doran, John Flynn, Jack Butler and Paul O’Dowd. The project was made possible with the help, support and goodwill from various local individuals and landowners.

Please note most of these sites are private land so please seek landowners permission before entering onto their property. Map researched and designed by Michael Fortune, 2015
